LivingHomes

Builder

LivingHomes builds homes, designed by world-class architects, that feature warm, modern design, functional amenities, and an extremely comprehensive environmental program.

LivingHomes are made in specially equipped factories that ensure unsurpassed quality, lower construction cost and waste, and a shorter construction schedule. The result: healthier, happier homes that have a dramatically smaller ecological footprint than most new homes.

LivingHomes offers two lines of single and multi-family designs, one created by Ray Kappe, FAIA, the founder of the Southern California Institute of Architecture, and the other by KieranTimberlake Associates of Philadelphia, the AIA 2008 Firm of the Year.

The first LivingHome, designed by Ray Kappe, was installed in eight hours in Santa Monica, California. It was the first home in the nation to achieve a LEED for Homes Platinum rating and was the only home in the nation to win the AIA's top sustainability award in 2007.

LivingHomes are available in standard or customized configurations to builders and developers who want a more cost- and time-effective way to integrate homes that feature high design and low environmental impact into their projects.

Architecture

For over two decades, KieranTimberlake has created beautifully crafted, thoughtfully made designs that are holistically integrated to site, program and people. The firm is recognized for its research-based practice that focuses on new materials, processes, assemblies and products. They have received over eighty design citations, including the 2008 Architecture Firm Award from the American Institute of Architects.

The firm employs collective rather than singular intelligence in the making of architecture, taking a holistic approach involving many layers of information and participants at one time. The firm operates on the belief that the core acts of the architect are the creative selection, organization, integration and articulation of systems about the ideas, ideals and daily use of the inhabitant. Its art is the discovery of external and internal logics derived from this exploration. It is the needs of the inhabitant, in the context of site circumstance, that lead to a masterful articulation and expression of landscape, light, materials and systems. The result is a vision that is unique.
